Homeopathic Pet Treatments
Homeopathy is a form of medicine discovered over 200 years ago. Homeopathy means to treat like with like. Homeopathy’s primary focus is to strengthen the patient’s defenses and shift the balance in favor of recovery.
To better understand how homeopathy works, it helps to consider two aspects of a disease. First, there is the immediate cause, such as a bacteria, virus, toxin, or internal immunological activity. Second, there is the patient’s response: their reaction and defenses such as fever, inflammation and discharge. These are the body’s attempts to eliminate pathogens and toxins and heal the tissue.
The approach to homeopathy is very different from conventional medicine. To do this successfully requires that we talk at length to determine the pattern of illness affecting your pet. The initial consultation takes the most time as we are gathering pertinent information. The information is analyzed and a treatment plan is devised. Homeopathic medicines are called remedies. The precise remedy for your pet is given orally and then a response is observed over the next one to three weeks. Subsequent consultations examine your pet’s healing reaction and further treatments are planned.
